Levita Lingo was born October 15, 1935 on a kitchen table in Lynn, Arkansas and departed this life in Texarkana, Arkansas on March 3, 2025 at the age of 89. Levita lived the life of farmers until the age of 5, when the family moved to the small town of Walnut Ridge. Electricity, indoor plumbing, and even running water were all new experiences. Her first job was a receptionist for a doctor's office where she discovered her passion for patient care. Her enthusiasm continued throughout her life. Her career consisted of roles as a staff, medical, research, and head nurse. She worked in kidney transplant/dialysis, and has been published and recognized nationally for her work. Levita served a 4-year term as the President for the State of Arkansas Nephrology Nurses Association and served on the Board of the Arkansas Kidney Commission. She is a recipient of the American Nephrology Nurses Association Director's Award. She was also instrumental in the development and running of the Harrison House, where she served as treasurer for the Harrison House Governing Committee.  Levita had three other passions – travel, reading and tending to her multitude of flowers and plants. In her later years, she received great pleasure from making floral arrangements for every occasion, especially birthdays for those she loved.

"Aunt Bea" as all family lovingly called her, is survived by her nephew Stan Bailey (Lana), a great nephew, Logan Bailey (Jessica), two great nieces – Faith Myers (Bradley) and Kalee Weakley (Daniel), 3 great, great nieces and 2 great, great nephews. She also leaves behind lifelong friends and those she met through her work in kidney transplants.

In lieu of flowers, donations honoring Levita can be made to the UAMS-College of Nursing.

Visitation will be Saturday, March 8, 2025, at 10 a.m. at Pleasant Hill Missionary Baptist Church in Lynn with funeral services following immediately at 10:45 a.m. Andrew Turner will officiate. Interment will follow in Dry Creek Cemetery under the direction of Cox Funeral Home in Walnut Ridge.
