Lon (Red) Earl Davidson, 81, of Walnut Ridge passed from this life on Sunday, September 6, 2026, at the Flo and Phil Jones Hospice House in Jonesboro surrounded by his family and loved ones. He was born on October 7, 1944, in Walnut Ridge to the late Paul and Juanita (Riggs) Davidson. He was united in marriage to Betty Briner on January 22, 1966, in Light.

Lon worked as a mechanic during his early years and went on to dedicate twenty-five years of service to Skil. A faithful member of the Main St. Church of Christ in Walnut Ridge, he also had a passion for drag strip racing at George Ray’s, loved fishing, gardening, and listening to the St. Louis Cardinals on the radio. Above all, Red adored his family and was well-known for his playful spirit and love of playing pranks on people.

In addition to his parents, Lon was preceded in death by his infant daughter, Amanda Carol Davidson; brothers, Cloyce Davidson, Ronnie Davidson, and Jackie Davidson.

Lon is survived by his wife, Betty Davidson of Walnut Ridge; daughter, Cheryl Stocker, and her husband, Tim Stocker (whom Red truly considered a son) of Walnut Ridge; brothers, Junior Davidson of Hoxie, Donnie Davidson (Eva) of Atoka, Tennessee, Terry Davidson of Doniphan, Missouri, Harold Davidson (Debbie) of Jonesboro, and Jerry Davidson of Doniphan, Missouri; sisters, Geraldine Arnold (Doug) of Walnut Ridge and Willene Luster (Bobby) of Portia; brother-in-law, Junior Briner (Susan) of Walnut Ridge; grandchildren, Brianna Segraves, Jade Lawson, Skyler Stocker (Tara), Bo Stocker (Kelly), and Byron Stocker; special grandsons, Peter Kouguine, and Derek Lawson; great-grandchildren, Gemma and Mila Kouguine, Tinsley and Kipp Lawson, Brock, Langley, Copelyn, Hollyn, Addison and Witten Stocker, Ember Maxie; and numerous nieces and nephews and close friends that loved him like family.

A celebration of life will be on Friday, September 18, 2026, at 12 P.M., in the Cox Funeral Home Chapel in Walnut Ridge. Bro. Rob Combs will officiate. Burial will be at a later date.
