Thelma Lorene "Rene" Vandergriff, 92, of Dalton, Arkansas passed from this life on Wednesday, January 1, 2025, at her residence. She was born on April 22, 1932, in Dalton, Arkansas to the late Eddie M. and Ethel (Watley) Crawford. She proudly served in the United States Air Force from 1952-1955. Rene worked various jobs during her lifetime, including being a dental assistant, EMT, and jailer. She was an inaugural Dalton Volunteer Fire Department member and later served on the board. Rene was a devout Christian and was a member of the Dalton Church of Christ.

Rene was preceded in death by her parents; one son, Clyde James (C.J.) Vandergriff; and brother, Billy Crawford.

She is survived by her daughter, Tammy Kuzminski (Bob) of Richmond, Michigan; granddaughter, Stephanie Ellis and Sada Vandergriff; great-grandson, Jonny Fend; daughter- in-law, Tammy Vandergriff; nephew, Jimmy Crawford; special rescue pets, Max and Rock; and a host of family members and friends.
