Lovan Melvie Arnold, 82, of Hoxie (formerly of Swifton) passed away Tuesday, May 15, 2017 at Flo and Phil Jones Hospice House in Jonesboro. She was born December 31, 1934 to Arkey Willis and Jessie Wallin Goza in Walnut Ridge. She was a homemaker and a member of Abiding Faith Church in Swifton.

She is preceded in death by her husband, J.C. Arnold; her parents; and brothers, Carroll, Charles and Jerry Goza.

She is survived by her son, Jeffrey Arnold of Swifton; daughter, Pam Bradsher of Jonesboro; brothers, Sammy Goza of Russelville; sister, Bernice Henderson of Swifton; grandson, Matthew Arnold; and great grandchildren, Elizabeth and Chrystian Arnold.

Visitation will be Thursday, May 18, 2017 from 6-8 p.m. at Cox Funeral Home in Walnut Ridge. Funeral will be Friday, May 19, 2017 at 10 am at Abiding Faith Church in Swifton with Sister Johnnie Ruth Owens and Brother Thomas Patterson officiating. Burial will follow at Strangers Home Cemetery near Alicia.

Pallbearers will be Steven Dobbs, Cleatus Thompson, Bobby Tinsley, Jason Runsick, and Matthew Arnold.

In Lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Flo and Phil Hospice House located at 1148 E Matthews Ave. in Jonesboro.
