Lucille Matthews, 89, of Imboden, passed away Thursday, April 27, 2023 at Walnut Ridge Nursing and Rehab. She was born to the late David B. and Ellen (Glenn) Lewis on July 21, 1933 in Smithville. On May 25, 1949 she married Ancel Matthews in Batesville. Lucille was employed at Sloan Hendrix School and Matthews General Store during her lifetime. She was a beloved wife and mother, she enjoyed taking care of her home and children, constantly improving both.

Preceding her in death were he1r husband; a son, Tommy Matthews; brothers, Brad, W.H. and Bill Lewis and a son-in-law, John Sutton.

Survivors include daughters, Ann Sutton of Pocahontas, Susan (David) Taylor of Smithville and Cindy (Kenny) Price of Paragould; 22 grandchildren, 24 great grandchildren and 2 great-great grandchildren.

Visitation will be Monday, May 1, 2023 from 11 am until 12 pm in Cox Funeral Home in Walnut Ridge with funeral service following immediately at 12 pm. Jerry Clements will officiate. Burial will be in Smithville Cemetery under the direction of Cox Funeral Home of Walnut Ridge.

Family will serve as pallbearers.
