Lucy White, 94, of Walnut Ridge, died September 18 at Lawrence Hall Nursing Center. A lifelong resident of Lawrence County, she was born June 11, 1918 in Morgan Township to French Lewis White and Hattie Ann Lingo. She was a member of First Baptist Church in Black Rock and Sunday School teacher 54 years. She retired from Lawrence Manufacturing after 28 ½ years of service where she was a sewing machine operator.
Preceding her in death were her parents; sisters, Magdeline White and Eula Bruce; brother, Noel White; one half-brother; two half-sisters.
Survivors include sister Willie Norman of Powhatan; brothers, Dent White (Sybil) of Portia, Dean White of Millersburg, OH; one niece, Mildred Hessling; five nephews, Spencer Bruce (Jean Ann) of Pocahontas, Jim Montgomery, Ralph Montgomery, Terry White, Tommy White; several great-nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held Thursday 6:00 – 8:00 pm at Cox Funeral Home Chapel in Walnut Ridge. Funeral services will be Friday 1:00 pm at Cox Funeral Home Chapel with Harold Russell officiating. Burial will follow in Dry Creek Cemetery in Lynn.
Serving as pallbearers are Bill Meeks, Lawrence Kildow, Pat Robey, Jr., Tony Carey, Leroy Beary, Britt Meeks.
