Marvin Allen Cook, 60, of Walnut Ridge entered his heavenly home on Thursday, October 17, 2024, at Advanced Care Hospital in Searcy. He was born May 5, 1964, in Flint, Michigan to Phyllis Dickerson and Marvin Gibson Ellington. He was united in marriage to Laura McCombs on February 16, 2000, in Walnut Ridge. He was a self-employed truck driver and owned CNR Logistics for over thirty years. He was a member of the United Free Will Baptist Church in Walnut Ridge.

Marvin loved hunting, fishing, traveling, and truck driving. He adored his wife and daughters, and being with his grandchildren. Marvin loved his country and proudly served in the United States Army. He was a Pa to many of Grammy's daycare kids. He was loved by all of his friends and family.

He was preceded in death by his biological parents, Phillis Dickerson and Marvin Gibson Ellington; and his adoptive parents, Harry and Lillian Cook. He is now in heaven with his best friend, Norman.

He is survived by his wife, Laura Cook of the home; children, Veronica Selvidge (Daniel) of Bradford, Jennifer Broadway (Joey) of Walnut Ridge, Crystal Fleming (Travis) of Walnut Ridge, Tanya Lancaster of Irondale, Missouri, and Ashley Downen (Blake) of Dumas; brothers, Rick Ellington (Anita), Steve Ellington both of Paris, Arkansas, Donald Cook (Mary Ann) of Paragould; sister, Cindy Stinnett of Paris, Arkansas; grandchildren, Jazlyn, Zayden, Zivah, Lillian, Greyson, and Baylor; Grammy's daycare kids; many nieces, nephews, and a host of other family members and friends.

Visitation will be Sunday, October 20, 2024, from 2 p.m. until 4 p.m. at United Free Will Baptist Church in Walnut Ridge with funeral services following immediately at 4 p.m. Glenn Smith will officiate. Interment will follow in Lawrence Memorial Park in Walnut Ridge under the direction of Cox Funeral Home in Walnut Ridge.

Honored to serve as pallbearers are David Looney, Gary Lawhon, Rob Defries, Zayden Fleming, Brad Junkersfeld, and Wayne Broadway.

Honorary pallbearers are Jeff Walls and Lynn Haskins.
