Mary Ellen Dunnivant Nees, 73, passed away Thursday, April 4, 2019 at Walnut Ridge Nursing and Rehab Center in Walnut Ridge.  She was born March 11, 1946 in Walnut Ridge to J. D. and Francis Hathcock Madden. On March 19, 2011 she married Leonard Nees. Mary was a homemaker and of the Baptist belief.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Leonard Nees; and a grand-daughter, Crystal Gibson.

She is survived by four daughters; Donna George (Morris) of McComb, Mississippi, Barbie Caldwell (Shay) of Springdale, Janet Smith and Jennifer Doyle both of Hoxie; three brothers, Danny Madden and Rickey Madden, both of Hoxie and Randy Madden of Bloomfield, Missouri; ten grandchildren and twelve great-grandchildren.

Visitation will Saturday, April 6, 2019 at 10 a.m. at Cox Funeral Home in Walnut Ridge with funeral following at 11 a.m. Shay Caldwell will officiate.  Interment will follow in Clover Bend Cemetery. All arrangements are under the direction of Cox Funeral Home in Walnut Ridge.

Honored to serve as pallbearers are James Story, Morris George and Wesley Caldwell.  Honorary pallbearers are Danny Madden, Rickey Madden and Randy Madden.
