Mary Jo (Hancock) Foster, 92, passed from life on Tuesday, March 17, 2026, at St. Bernards Medical Center in Jonesboro with her family by her side. Born February 4, 1934, to the late John Calvin and Frankie (Hopkins) Martin, in Pocahontas, she lived a wonderful, blessed life until the age of 92. Mary Jo was a devoted Christian and member of the Free St. church of Christ in Walnut Ridge. She was a devoted mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend to all.

Mary Jo had a zest for life and loved family, music, playing guitars, and writing songs. Her God-given talent brought joy to many people, and she could sit for hours playing music with family and friends. Her kindness and love for all were visible in every aspect of her life.

In addition to her parents, Mary Jo was preceded in death by her son, Michael Wayne Hancock; her husband of 49 years, L.C. Hancock; her husband, Jack Foster; her sisters, Flora Bell Greenway, Lora Mae Warnick, Rose Lee Livesay, Millie Snyder, Lillian Kay Cook; and her brother, Marion Martin.

She is survived by her son, Leslie Hancock (Linda) of Fender; daughter, Tammy Manning (Dennis) of Pocahontas; sisters, Frankie Romine, Caline Cline, Brenda Metz, Lavell "Tawney" Hanks, Anna Mae Warnick; grandchildren, Derek Manning, Scott Hancock, Misty Girard, Charles Hancock, and Michael Wayne Hancock, Jr; many great-grandchildren and great-great grandchildren; and a host of other family members.

Visitation will be on Friday, March 20, 2026, from 12 until 2 p.m. in Cox Funeral Home Chapel in Walnut Ridge, with funeral services immediately following at 2 p.m. Keith Livesay and Perry Greenway will officiate. Interment will follow in the Lorado Cemetery in Lorado. All arrangements are under the direction of Cox Funeral Home in Walnut Ridge.

Honored to serve as pallbearers are Derek Manning, Connor Manning, Cole Manning, Scott Hancock, Andrew Hancock, and Richard Girard.

Honorary pallbearers will be Charles Hancock, Keith Livesay, Perry Greenway, and Michael Hancock.
