Melinda Kay Henderson, 58, of Walnut Ridge, passed from this life on Monday, December 4, 2023, at her residence. She was born September 16, 1965, in Walnut Ridge to Levi "L.T." and Alice Faye (Gates) Lamb.  She was united in marriage to James A. Henderson on April 21, 1983, in Walnut Ridge. She was a factory worker and nurse's assistant during her lifetime. Melinda was a member of 7th Day Pentecostal Church in Hoxie.

She was preceded in death by her father, Levi Lamb; step-father, Charley Gates, Sr.; and nephew, Mitchell Lamb.

She is survived by her loving husband, James of the home; mother, Alice Gates of Walnut Ridge; children, Jimmy Henderson (Barbara) of Mayflower and Jill Sharp Henderson of Florida; siblings, Levi Lamb, Gene Lamb, Charley Gates, Jr., David Gates, and Glenda Gates all of Walnut Ridge; grandchildren, Clayton, Dawson, Hailey, Jazlyn, Jordan, and Lexi.

Graveside services will be Thursday, December 7, 2023, at 11 a.m. in Monette Cemetery in Monette.  David Gates will officiate. All arrangements are under the direction of Cox Funeral Home in Walnut Ridge.
