Powhatan – Michael Gene Richey, 66, of Powhatan passed away Saturday, May 28, 2016 at his home. He was born on November 16, 1949 in Eaton, Arkansas to Judd and Eula Walling Richey. On January 26, 1970, he married Nona Ruth Lamberth in Strawberry. He was a member of the Penecostal Church of Jesus Christ in Hoxie, and was a timber worker.
He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, James Richey and Edward Lee Richey; two sisters, Glenda Lewis and Genelda Tyler; and one great grandson, Damien Richey.
Survivors include his wife, Nona Ruth Richey of the home; sons, Kelly Richey (Jenny) of Imboden, Byron Richey (Shanna) of Lynn, and Curtis Richey of the home; brothers, Virgil Richey of Pocahontas; Jim Richey of Lynn, and nine grandchildren.
Visitation for Mr. Richey will be Wednesday, June 1, 2016 from 6-8 pm at Cox Funeral Home in Walnut Ridge. Funeral services will be Thursday, June 2, 2016 at 11 am at Cox Funeral Home with Rebecca Lapiro officiating. Burial will follow at Old Lebannon Cemetery at Lynn under the direction of Cox Funeral Home in Walnut Ridge.
Honored to serve as pallbearers are William Runyan, Tim Richey, Travis Richey, Billy Broadway, Chris Broadway, and Terry Smith.
