Mildred "Midge" Margaret Austin, 87, of Greenbriar, formerly of Lawrence County, passed away Sunday, June 11, 2017 at Greenbriar Nursing and Rehab Center in Greenbriar. She was born on March 27, 1930 at Tyronza to John William and Ina Lois Moore Austin. She worked many years as a Licensed Practical Nurse at Methodist Hospital in Jonesboro retiring in 1992. After retirement she enjoyed reading, painting and traveling. Mildred loved to fish and spent many happy times saltwater fishing in Rockport, Texas. She was a member of the United Freewill Baptist Church in Walnut Ridge.

She is preceded in death by her parents; two brothers, John W. "Bud Austin and Paul Austin; three sisters, Helen Holmes, Vivian Davis and Doris Kirkland.

She is survived by and will be missed by many nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be Wednesday, June 14, 2017 from 1 until 2 pm with funeral service following at 2 pm with Ted Grove officiating. Burial will follow in Lawrence Memorial Park under the direction of Cox Funeral Home of Walnut Ridge.
