Octavis "Red" Adamson, 93, of Walnut Ridge passed away Thursday, May 11, 2017 at Lawrence Memorial Hospital. He was born March 19, 1924 in Imboden.  He was a truck driver and a member of First Baptist Church in Walnut Ridge.  He served in the army during the World War II DDay + 3 Normandy Beach.

He is preceded in death by his parents; wife, Mary Adamson; brother, Ray Adamson; sisters, Faye Cunningham, Gladys Hackworth, and Ruth Davis.

He is survived by his sons, Virgil Adamson (Karen) of Hoxie, Steve Adamson (Julie) of Hoxie; daughter, Leann Paxton (Byron) of Jonesboro; grandchildren, Ashley Estes(Jeff) of Brookland, Mark Paxton (Brittany) of Jonesboro, Jacob Adamson (Amy Ward) Paul Adamson, Noah Adamson (Emma Slusser), all of Hoxie; great grandchildren, Lance and Tinley Grace Paxton, Parker, Waylon Ward; nephew, Clyde Marron; and special niece, Sandra Davidson.

Visitation will be Saturday from 1-2 p.m. at Cox Funeral Home in Walnut Ridge. Funeral will follow at 2 p.m. with Jake Guenrich and Tim Campbell officiating.  Burial will be at Lawrence Memorial Park under the direction of Cox Funeral Home.

Pallbearers are Jacob Adamson, Noah Adamson, Paul Adamson, Jimmy Cunningham, Mark Paxton, and Jeff Estes.

Honorary Pallbearers are Tommy Gray, Chris Tillman, Ray Martin, Jackie Cude, Jeremy Cunningham, Teddy Hackworth and Gary Cunningham.
