Randall Roy Lawson, Sr., 80, of Powhatan, Arkansas, passed from this life on Friday, March 27, 2026, at Lawrence Hall Nursing Center in Walnut Ridge, surrounded by loved ones. He was born on October 2, 1945, in Portia, to the late Glenn and Ruby Pearl (Helms) Lawson.

Randall was a founding member of the Grace Tabernacle Church in Black Rock. He spent many hours helping in the construction of the church. Randall was a dedicated and hardworking man who spent much of his life in road construction, building roads, and working for several contractors as a supervisor. He had a passion for flying, earning his pilot's license and owning a Cessna airplane. In his free time, he enjoyed playing the guitar, riding his motorcycle, and training and riding horses.

In addition to his parents, Randall was preceded in death by his sons, Randall Lawson, Jr., Billy Lawson, and Johnny Lawson; and his brother, Jackson Lawson.

He is survived by his loving wife of 61 years, Joyce Lawson, of the home; his children, Dewayne Lawson (Charissa) of Lima, Ohio, Deneshia Helms of Powhatan, and Ruth Ann Lawson of Smithville; grandchildren, Isaac Lawson (Ashley), Wesley Helms (Paige), Jared Helms (Kelsie), David Helms (Kallisa), Bekah Morse (Kyle), Desitny Beachy (Benji), Jacob Lawson (Farrah), Billy Lawson (Sadie), Randy Lawson, Michaela Burgess (Malachi), Zach Lawson (Anna), Moriah Hanna (Bryan), and Bethany Hatfield (Isaac); 25 great-grandchildren; and a host of other family members and friends.

Visitation will be on Monday, March 30, 2026, from 1 to 3 P.M. in the Cox Funeral Home Chapel in Walnut Ridge, with funeral services immediately following at 3 P.M. Pastor Matt Morse will officiate. Interment will follow in the Oak Forest Cemetery in Black Rock under the direction of Cox Funeral Home in Walnut Ridge.

Grandsons will serve as pallbearers.

Honorary pallbearers will be Tom Allen and Harold Bailey.
