Walnut Ridge – Raylon Eugene Powers, Sr., 77, of Walnut Ridge passed away Sunday, June 26, 2016 at his residence. He was born in Okean on October 21, 1938 to William Thomas and Nora Lee Hudson Powers. On September 26, 1973, he married Wanda Sue McQuay in Jonesboro. He had an unconditional love for his family and his hard work ethics, along with his wife's, helped him to be a successful businessman in our community since 1969. He was a television technician, owner of Moni's Grill, and a member of Cache River Pentecostal Church in Sedgwick.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and three brothers, William Andrew Powers, Herman Ray Powers, and Clifford Thomas Powers.

He is survived by his wife, Wanda Sue McQuay Powers of the home; sons, Raylon Eugene Powers, Jr. of Hoxie, Chuck Gray of Smithville, Joe Anthony Gray (Patty), of Walnut Ridge; daughters, Peggy Sue Gorecki , Tina Kaye Woodworker (Robin), and Lana Gray, all of Walnut Ridge; grandchildren, Lori Dionne Gray, Monica Leanne Long (Robert Bryson), Joshua Charles Gray (Raquel Marie), Tia Michelle Stephens, Raylon Allen Powers (Amber), Stevie Christina Raye Woodworker, Cody Tyler Randolph Woodworker; great grandchildren, Zoe Marie Gray, Sean Michael Gray, Kayleene Faith Long, Chantelle Awtum Nicole Gray, Beau Hunter Charles Gray, Jordyn Star Long, Sarah Powers, and Karley Powers.

Visitation will be Tuesday, June 28, 2016 from 6:00 pm – 8:00 pm at Cox Funeral Home in Walnut Ridge. Funeral will be Wednesday, June 29, 2016 at 10:00 a.m. at Cox Funeral Home in Walnut Ridge with Rick Hart officiating. Burial be follow at Powhatan Cemetery in Powhatan under the direction of Cox Funeral Home in Walnut Ridge.

Honored to serve as pallbearers are Joshua Gray, Bryson Long, Robin Woodworker, Jeremy Powers, Larry Williams, and Boyce Dixon.

Honorary pallbearers are Chris Collier and Lester Hancock.
