Robert Fred Jones, 70, of Jacksonville, passed from this life on Friday, October 30, 2026, at his residence. He was born on September 9, 1956, in Camp Pendleton California, to Huey “Buck” and Mable (Hodge) Jones. He was united in marriage to Linda Varga on May 21, 1993, in Hoxie. He was of the Baptist belief. Robert was a retiree of FedEx, where he worked for many years as a truck driver. In his free time, he was an enthusiastic motorcycle rider and an avid fisherman.

Robert was preceded in death by his father, Huey “Buck” Jones.

He is survived by his wife, Linda Jones of the home; mother, Mable Jones of Hoxie; sons, Robby Jones, Wesley Jones both of Cabot, Mitchell Clay (Jennifer) of Jonesboro, Micky Jones of the home, and Zachary Jones (Hannah) of Austin; brothers, Steve Jones (Pam) of Searcy, James Jones (Sandy) of Black Rock, Vickie Romine (Nathan) of Hoxie, and Lisa Scott (Wes) of Lorado; grandchildren, Bailey, Gage, Chloe, Raney, Cora Lee, Carlee, Hadley, Corbin, Caroline, and Cohen; and a host of other family members and friends.

Visitation will be Monday, November 2, 2026, from 12 P.M. until 2 P.M. in the Cox Funeral Home Chapel in Walnut Ridge with funeral services immediately following at 2 P.M. Bro. Derek Collins will officiate. Interment will follow in the Lorado Cemetery under the direction of Cox Funeral Home in Walnut Ridge.

Honored to serve as pallbearers are Robby Jones, Wesley Jones, Mitchell Clay, Micky Jones, Zachary Jones, and Curtis Goodwin.

Honorary pallbearers are Steve Jones, James Jones, Nathan Romine, and Wes Scott.
