Shirley Yvonne Gill, 89, of Walnut Ridge, passed from this life on Wednesday, July 9, 2025, at Lawrence Hall Nursing Center in Walnut Ridge. She was born on March 5, 1936, in Lesterville to the late Edward and Effie (Ring) Gaines. Shirley was a homemaker and was of the Missionary Baptist faith. She enjoyed cooking, sewing, and spending time with her grandchildren.

In addition to her parents, Shirley was preceded in death by her husband, Jerry Gill, of 61 years; daughter, Debbie Geurin; brothers, Bill Gaines and Harry Gaines; and sister, Claudell Logan.

She is survived by her sons, Donald Gill (Tammie) of Powhatan and Joey Gill (Jennifer) of Walnut Ridge; grandchildren, Kris Gill (April), Brett Gill (Summer), Jared Gill, Josh Geurin, Dustin Geurin(Lauren), Blake Geurin (Ashton), Rebecca Gill, and Tyler Ditto; ten great-grandchildren, Caleb, Jarrett, Connor, Kaitlyn, Kylie, Kaden, Racheal, Shooter, Gunner, Addison, Witten; two great-great grandchildren, Eavelyn and Kohen; and a host of other family members.

Visitation will be held on Sunday, July 13, 2025, from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. at Cox Funeral Home in Walnut Ridge, with funeral services immediately following at 4:00 p.m. Pastor Greg Crabtree will officiate. Interment will follow in the Lawrence Memorial Park Cemetery under the direction of Cox Funeral Home in Walnut Ridge.

Honored to serve as pallbearers are Kris Gill, Brett Gill, Jared Gill, Josh Geurin, Dustin Geurin, and Blake Geurin.

Honorary pallbearers are Jarrett Geurin, Connor Geurin, Kaden Geurin, Caleb Smith, Dillon Rogers, and Tyler Ditto.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the Lawrence Hall Nursing Center Activity Fund in Shirley's memory.
