Steven "Tony" Wheeler, 36, of Hoxie passed from this life on Thursday, June 29, 2023, at St. Bernards Medical Center in Jonesboro.  He was born September 2, 1986, in Jonesboro to Stephen "Bubby Jay" and Loretta (Chappel) Wheeler. He was of the Baptist belief.  He was a truck driver for Waste Pro and proudly served on the Hoxie Fire Department for 16 years. Tony loved camping and was a loving uncle to his niece and nephew.

He was preceded in death by his father.

He is survived by his mother, Loretta Wheeler of Walnut Ridge; special friend, Anna Guest of the home; brother, Travis Wheeler (Catherine) of Walnut Ridge; niece and nephew, Annabelle and Gavin; several cousins, extended family, and fire department friends.

Visitation will be Wednesday, July 5, 2023, from 6 until 8 p.m. at Cox Funeral Home in Walnut Ridge.  Funeral services will be Thursday, July 6, 2023, 10 a.m. at Cox Funeral Home. Roger Tidwell will officiate. Interment will follow in Austin Cemetery in Walnut Ridge under the direction of Cox Funeral Home.

Honored to serve as pallbearers are Robert Lee, Charlie Mitchell, Chris Whittamore, Adam Morse, and the Hoxie Fire Department.
