Walnut Ridge – Tammy Rena Jones, 51 of Walnut Ridge passed away Wednesday, December 21, 2016 as a result of injuries sustained in an automobile accident near Sedgwick.  She was born in Walnut Ridge on November 12, 1965 to Rupert Frank and Bertia Alzora Madison Hembrey.  On May 22, 1987, she married Timmy Jones.  She was a teacher's aide at Walnut Ridge High School, employee of Lawrence County Clerk's office, and administrative assistant at Lawrence County Sheriff's Office.  She was president of Lawrence County 4-H Foundation, and Shutterbug Volunteer Leader.  She was a member of Highway 67 Church of Christ in Walnut Ridge.

She was preceded in death by her parents; sister, Donna Moore; brother in law, Jerry Moore, and two nephews.

Survivors include her husband, Julian Timothy "Tim" Jones and son, Alex Jones, both of the home; daughter Cassie Lawson (Ross) of Ravenden; brothers, Joe Hembrey (Sandra) of Kemp, Texas, Eddie Hembrey (Linda) of Walnut Ridge; and sister, Lana Foley of Jonesboro.

Visitation will be Friday, December 30, 2016 from 4-8 pm at Cox Funeral Home in Walnut Ridge.  Funeral will be Saturday, December 31, 2016 , at 10 am at Cox Funeral Home with Roger and Richard Knight officiating.  Burial will follow at Strangers Home Cemetery near Alicia under the direction of Cox Funeral Home in Walnut Ridge.

Honored to serve as pallbearers are Joseph Hembrey, Jason Hembrey, Aaron Richey, Jay Jones, Shane Barnes, and Justin Barnes.

Honorary pallbearers will be Jessie Finchem, Draven Ray, and the employees of the Lawrence County Sheriff's department.
