Thomas Lee "Tommy" Garrett, 80, of Maynard passed from this life on Saturday, September 16, 2023, at his residence. He was born July 3, 1943, in Delaplaine to the late Rev. Robert and Eula (Hollaway) Garrett.  He proudly served in the United States Navy.  Tommy was of the Christian belief and loved singing in church.  He was a carpenter, volunteer fire chief, and mayor of O'Kean during his life.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife, Evie Garrett, second wife, Paulette Garrett, and third wife, Virginia Elms Garrett; brothers, Bubba Gene Garrett, Billy McCluskey, Ronnie Dale Garrett; sister, Sally Garrett, Dorothy Hollaway, and Alice Euvaughn Williams.

He is survived by his loving wife, Susie McManners of the home; sons, Bud Garrett, Paul (Brenda) Burgess; daughters, Lisa (Scott) Pester, Theresa Marie DeArman, Marcella (Michael) Cartney, Sherry (Perry) Egleston, Dacra Melendez, and Theresa Thurman; brother, Douglas Garrett; sister, Donna Gail Robertson; thirty-three grandchildren; several great-grandchildren, and one great-great grandchild.

Visitation will be Saturday, September 23, 2023, from 12 until 2 p.m. at Elnora Free Will Baptist Church with funeral services immediately following at 2 p.m.  Jerrald Dean will officiate. Interment will follow in Randolph Memorial Gardens in Pocahontas under the direction of Cox Funeral Home in Walnut Ridge.

Honored to serve as pallbearers are Ronnie Roberts, Paul Burgess, Aaron Winfrey, Rick Fritz, John Loveless, and Mike Ogden.

Honorary pallbearers are Steve Berry, Jim Venson, and Michael Landreth.
