Black Rock – Truel Jennings Baker, 70, passed from this life on Thursday, November 26, 2020 at St. Bernards Medical Center in Jonesboro.  He was born March 23, 1950 in Jonesboro to Leo and Mabel Perryman Baker. He was raised in Clover Bend and was a graduate of Hoxie High School.  He married Dian Williams on September 7, 1991 in Walnut Ridge.  Truel was employed at Stan Jones Farms and Riceland Foods during his life.  He served in the United States Army during the Vietnam war.

Preceding him in death were: his parents; two brothers, and one sister.

He is survived by his wife, Dian of the home; sons, Shawn Woodson of Black Rock, Jeff Woodson of Sedgwick; daughter, Malessie of Walnut Ridge; one step-daughter, Jackie Wilson (Dale) of Portia; brothers, Earl Dale Baker (Paula) of Florida; sisters, Phyllis Johnson (J.C.) of North Carolina, Linda Middleton (Bobby) of Vicksburg, Mississippi, and Notts Bradshaw (Lester) of North Carolina; grandchildren, Brett Nosser, Kaley Keeling, Kerry Green, River Woodson, Si Woodson, and Sylas Lamb; great-grandchildren, Jaxon, Braxton, Xander, Auden, and Madyson; and a nephew, Neal.

Graveside services will be Wednesday, December 2, 2020 in Lawrence Memorial Park at 11 a.m.  Jimmy Dunlap will officiate.  All arrangements are under the direction of Cox Funeral Home in Walnut Ridge.
