Vernon "Pete" Rice, 92 of Fayetteville, formerly of Walnut Ridge, passed away December 12, 2016 at his residence. He was born October 3 , 1924 to Earl and Lona Bowling Rice. Pete worked in auto service and sales. He was a member of First United Methodist Church in Walnut Ridge.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Carma Lee Casteel ; his parents; son in law, Rick Davis; brothers, Nathan, Truman, and Harold Rice; and sister, Monteen Luck.

He is survived by his daughters, Nyoka Rogers of Ardmore, Oklahoma and Rhonda Davis of Fayetteville; grandsons, Jarrod Davis and Adam Davis; seven great-grandchildren.

Graveside service will be Thursday, December 15 , 2016 at 1 p.m. at Lawrence Memorial Park in Walnut Ridge with Reverend Jeanne Williams officiating.  All arrangements will be under the direction of Cox Funeral Home in Walnut Ridge.
