Powhatan-Violet Mae Goad, 91 passed away Thursday, December 20, 2018 at her residence.  She was born August 20, 1927 to William and Belvia Lewis Jones in Rector.  She was a homemaker and a member of Black Rock Church of Christ.

Preceding her in death were: her husband, Charles Goad; her parents; a daughter, Deloris Duncan; and one grandson, William Jones II.

She is survived by six children, Della Meeks of Black Rock, William Jones of Powhatan, Elizabeth Anderson of Portia, Charlene Doyle of Portia, Norman Goad of Powhatan, and Joann Smith of Powhatan; twelve grandchildren, thirty-three great-grandchildren, and four great great-grandchildren; one brother, Luther Jones of Portia; one sister, Gladys Lebow of Little Rock.

Visitation will be Wednesday, December 26, 2018 from 4-7 p.m. at Cox Funeral Home in Walnut Ridge.  Graveside services will be Thursday, December 27, 2018, 2 p.m. at Oak Forest Cemetery in Black Rock with Steve Prestidge officiating. All arrangements are under the direction of Cox Funeral Home in Walnut Ridge.

Honored to serve as pallbearers are Charles Meeks, Kenneth Meeks, Gary Meeks, Bobby Wilson, Bobby Wilson, Jr., and William Cason.

Honorary pallbearers are Ron Doyle, Wendell Jones, and members of Black Rock church of Christ.
