Wanda Jeraldean Petersen, 86 of Hoxie passed away Friday, September 30, 2016 at NEA Hospital in Jonesboro. She was born in Strangers Home, Arkansas on January 21, 1930 to Charles Lindsey and Anna Susan Simmons Counts. She was a waitress, member of VFW Eastern Star in Illinois, and a member of the Portia church of Christ.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her first husband, David L. Paulson, second husband, Gordon "Pete" Petersen; sisters, Melva Massey and Deborah Kluge.

Survivors include her sons, David L. Paulson (Sharon) of Mt. Prospect, Illinois, Michael Paulson (Laurie) of Glen Ellyn, Illinois; daughters, Phyllis Tribble (Ricky) of Hoxie, Terri Saccotelli (Larry) of Lombard, Illinois, Susan Ehlen (Ron) of Darien, Wisconsin, Julie Kenney (William) of Delavan, Wisconsin; brothers, Dale Counts of Alicia, Charles Gale Counts (Helen) of Tom Bean, Texas; sisters, Joy Fowler of Walnut Ridge, Lavoe Harber (Guy) of Cordova, Tennessee; several grandchildren and great grandchildren; special caregivers, Deborah Huffman and Teresa McCostlin; and her special young boyfriend, Anthony McCostlin.

Visitation for Mrs. Petersen will be Tuesday, October 4, 2016 from 12:00 p.m. until 2 p.m. at Cox Funeral Home in Walnut Ridge. Funeral will follow at 2:00 p.m. at Cox Funeral Home with Robert Davis officiating. Burial will be at Clover Bend Cemetery in Clover Bend under the direction of Cox Funeral Home of Walnut Ridge.

Honored to serve as pallbearers are Ronald Mounts, David Mounts, Hunter Mounts, Danny Saccotelli, and Billy Grifo.
