Wayne Edward Callahan, 74, of Hoxie, passed from this life on Friday, February 13, 2026, at the St. Bernards Medical Center in Jonesboro. He was born on December 25, 1951, in Walnut Ridge to the late Walter and Ruby (Craft) Callahan. He was a factory worker during his life and a member of the First Free Will Baptist Church in Walnut Ridge. Wayne enjoyed his morning coffee stops at McDonald's with his friends, and cherished his times spent with his nephew, Tyler, especially their drives and cruises through town.

In addition to his parents, Wayne was preceded in death by his brothers, Walter Jr. Callahan, and Leon Harold Callahan; and sisters, Orpal Earlene Adams, and Re Sterling.

He is survived by his sisters, Ann Rea (Jary) of Missouri, and Dee Murphy (Darrell) of Texas; special nephew and caregiver, Allen Dillard (Patricia) of Walnut Ridge; and several other nieces, nephews, and a host of other family members.

Visitation will be on Wednesday, February 18, 2026, from 12:30 to 1:30 P.M. in the Cox Funeral Home Chapel in Walnut Ridge. Graveside services will follow at 2:00 P.M. in Lawrence Memorial Park Cemetery in Walnut Ridge with Darrell Murphy officiating. All arrangements are under the direction of Cox Funeral Home in Walnut Ridge.
