Jonesboro-Willene Powers West of Jonesboro, formerly of Lynn, passed away December 20, 2016 at NEA Baptist Hospital in Jonesboro.  She was born October 26, 1936 in Eaton, Arkansas to Chester and Lavera Ward Sharp. She was a homemaker.

She is preceded in death by her husband, David Powers; her parents; son, Allen Short; brother, Owen Sharp; several sisters; and grand-daughter, Stephanie Dickson.

She is survived by her husband, Bob West of Jonesboro; sons, David Shawn Powers of Bono; daughters, Peggy Davis of Jonesboro and Diann Jones of Bono; sisters, Opal Lee of Strawberry, Charlene Burton of Beebe; several grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Family will serve as pallbearers.

Visitation will be Thursday, December 22, 2016 from 10-11 am at Cox Funeral Home in Walnut Ridge. Graveside service will follow at 12 noon at Old Lebanon Cemetery in Lynn with Coty Powers officiating. All arrangements are under the direction of Cox Funeral Home in Walnut Ridge.
