William Luke Atkinson, 79, of Hoxie passed away March 29, 2017 at St. Bernards Medical Center in Jonesboro. He was born August 12, 1937 to Claude and Millie Kingcade Atkinson in Lake City. He married Eva Hollandsworth on October 28, 1956 in Rockford, Illinois. He was a truck driver for Land O' Frost and a member of Gethsemane Baptist Church in Walnut Ridge.

He is preceded in death by his parents; brother, Cleatus (Skete) Atkinson.

He is survived by his wife, of the home; daughters, Julie Hendrix and Linda Dorton (Bruce); sister, Janette Atkinson Haber (Marvin) of Sarasota, Florida; grandchildren, Brandon and Robert Adams, Will and Natalie Hendrix; and 5 great grandchildren.

Visitation will be Friday, March 31, 2017 from 6-8 pm at Cox Funeral Home in Walnut Ridge. Funeral will be Saturday, April 1, 2017 at 10 am at Cox Funeral Home with Derek Collins officiating. Burial will be at Strangers Home Cemetery near Alicia.

Pallbearers are Brandon Adams, Robert Adams, Will Hendrix, Eason Adams, Fred Herring, and Dewayne Barker.
