Jonesboro- William Robert "Bob" Holobaugh, 89, passed away Saturday, February 17, 2018  in Jonesboro. Bob was born July 9, 1928, the first of the six children of Robert Karr and Beulah Pearl Holobaugh of Black Rock, Arkansas. After graduating from Black Rock High School in 1946, he worked in general construction with his father building homes, small businesses, and restoration projects around northeast Arkansas. In 1950, he moved to Detroit, where he worked at an aircraft assembly facility. He was drafted in 1951, and served in the Korean Conflict with the U.S. Army. Because of his skills, he served in the Corps of Engineers, and spent 18 months of active duty in Korea. After discharge, he returned to live in Memphis, TN. He started a career with Southern Bell Telephone Co, and married his long-time sweetheart Mary Ellison in1953. They had two children: Robert Wayne in 1956, and Andrea June in 1962. Bob continued his career through the multiple changes within the telephone industry to eventually retire from AT&T in 1987. He moved to Jonesboro, AR in 1991. He loved keeping his yard and working with his hands on small projects in his backyard garage. He enjoyed his classic hobby cars, and was a regular at cars show events around the area as a proud member of the Arkansas Antique Car Club. He was also a member of the Unity Masonic Lodge in Memphis, TN.

He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Walter Holobaugh.

He is survived by his son, Wayne (Tammy) Holobaugh of Moscow, TN; and his daughter, Andrea (Glenn) Miller of Plano, TX.; four grandchildren, Brad (Allen) Holobaugh of Collierville, TN, Matthew (Laura)Miller of Collierville, TN, Rachel Holobaugh of Collierville, TN, Kimberly Miller of Plano, TX; three great-grandchildren: McLane Miller, Tinsley Miller, Grey Miller; four siblings, Mary Ellen Smith of Nixa, MO, Patsy Holobaugh of Ava, MO, Jim Holobaugh of Ava, MO and Gene Holobaugh of Lake Orion, Michigan.

Visitation will be Saturday, February 24, 2018 from 10 a.m. until 11 a.m. with a memorial service following at 11 am  Cox Funeral Home in Walnut Ridge.

Bob will be laid to rest in the family plot at Oak Forest Cemetery in Black Rock, AR.
