Pocahontas-William "Dub" Gipson, Jr., 89, of Pocahontas passed away Tuesday, July 18, 2017 at Five Rivers Medical Center in Pocahontas.  He was born March 22, 1928 to William, Sr. and Pearl Mabery Gipson in Gum Stump.  He married Lucille Schafer on December 6, 1963.  He was a farmer, retired from Pocahontas Water Works and was of the Baptist belief.

He is preceded in death by his parents; several brothers and sisters; and a son, Robert Schafer.

He is survived by his wife, Lucille Gipson of Pocahontas; daughters, Peggy Colbert of Jonesboro and Wilma Dunlap of Cherokee Village; a son, Perry Schafer of Ravenden; and several grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Graveside services will be Thursday, June 20, 2017 at 10 a.m. at Randolph Memorial Gardens in Pocahontas with John Dulaney officiating.
