WALNUT RIDGE – William Teel Jr., 93, of Walnut Ridge died this morning, July 18, 2012, at Lawrence Memorial Hospital. He was born July 18, 1919 in Walnut Ridge to William, Sr. and Dollie Belle Baker Teel. January 22, 1940 he married Knowles Ruby Oldham. He was a life-long area farmer and of Baptist belief.
Preceding him in death: his parents; his wife; brothers, Fred Teel and Joe Teel; sisters, Ruby Weir, Ruth Holder, Lela Towell, Freda Watts, Charlene Stapleton, Opal Berry, and Louise Starnes; son-in-law, Leon Woody. Survivors include his children, Tony Teel (Linda) and Kathy Woody all of Walnut Ridge; four grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.
Visitation will be Thursday 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm at Cox Funeral Home Chapel. Services will be Friday 1:00 pm at Cox Funeral Home Chapel with David Ponder officiating. Burial will follow in Lawrence Memorial Park in Walnut Ridge.
Serving as pallbearers are Tony Teel, Heath Teel, Tyler Teel, Jordan Howard, Chance McLaughlin, David Davis. Honorary pallbearers are Jeremy McLaughlin, Gage McLaughlin, Jeremy Howard, Cody Howard, Trevor Teel, Patience Woody.
