William M. Davis, 92, of Smithville passed away Saturday, May 17, 2014 at Lawrence Memorial Hospital in Walnut Ridge. He was born on July 9, 1921 in Eaton to Garland and Margaret King Davis. He married Jo Alice Bailey on June 14, 1941 at Eaton. He was a farmer, served on the Lynn school board for many years, and was a member of the Faith Missionary Baptist Church at Eaton. He was a World War II army veteran.

Preceding him in death were his parents; his wife; a son, Michael Dewayne Davis; brothers, Leo Davis and Guss Davis; sisters, Ruby Matthews, Blanche Walling, Beulah Stalnaker, Zelma Perryman, Beatta Perryman and Lorene Stevenson; grandchildren, Chris Hardin and Matthew Davis.

Survivors include his children; Jimmy Max Davis (Mary) of Rogers; Danny Joe Davis (Tammie), Judy Diane Hardin and Timmy Lynn Davis, all of Smithville and Randall Keith Davis (Judy) of Lynn; brother, Cecil Davis of Kansas City MO, eleven grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandchild.

Visitation will be Monday, May 19, 2014 from 6 until 8pm at Faith Missionary Baptist Church in Eaton. Funeral services will be 2 pm Tuesday, May 20, 2014 at Faith Missionary Baptist Church under the direction of Cox-Fears Funeral Home of Walnut Ridge with David Stuart officiating. Burial will follow in Old Lebanon Cemetery near Lynn.

Pallbearers are Dennis Hardin, Chris Davis, Andrew Hagel, Jared Bousquett, Jason Davis, Larry Vance, and Anthony Crabtree.
